Dear Lynx families/Chères familles Lynx,
Happy Indigenous People’s Day. This day holds special significance for numerous Indigenous groups and communities that have celebrated their culture and heritage on June 21 or around that time of year because of the significance of the summer solstice as the longest day of the year.
Congratulations to all our grade 9 and grade 6 students on the completion of their PATs. Also, thanks to all the staff and students for being extra conscientious around the building for the past few weeks.
I would like to finish by letting families know about Buchanan School’s Indigenous Sports Day and Vanier’s role at it. After a successful sports day at Vanier, Buchanan invited our leadership students out to help run the day there. Mr. Cheng and a group walked over this morning and played a huge role in delivering another wonderful day. The students did themselves, and Vanier, proud!
Enjoy the last school weekend of the 2023-24 school year.
Bonne fin de semaine,
Chad Edmonds – Principal Georges P Vanier School
