Dear Lynx families/Chères familles Lynx,
I was speaking with Mr. Brown this morning and commenting on how these chilly mornings really do mark the arrival of fall. However, I should give credit to my neighbour, who pointed out to me earlier this week that the leaves on the trees probably did that sooner.
With fall comes the start of basketball season. Thank you to the parents and families who came out to support our Sr. Boys team who played here Thursday night. A reminder to families that if students stay to watch games here, the no mobile device policy remains in force. Also, they are not permitted to go to away games unless supervised by a parent or guardian.
I hope you all get a chance to get out and enjoy some relaxing time this weekend.
Bonne fin de semaine,
Mr. Chad Edmonds – Principal Georges P Vanier School

Volunteering with GPV!
Thank you to everyone that has completed the Annual Volunteer Registration Form in your Online Forms. If you have completed this form but do not have a police clearance and need a letter from Vanier OR if you do have a police clearance attached to a previous school (for example, those parents who completed this for their child’s previous school) please contact the office directly. Due to the large amount of online paperwork that occurs at school start-up, we want to make sure we deal with volunteer forms as soon as possible.
Once we get the communication from you, we will know to access your form and get you attached to our school or print the required letter so that you can complete your police clearance.
You can email either Lori Stotz ljstotz@cbe.ab.ca or Beth Gilkes eagilkes@cbe.ab.ca for more information.
